On 30 January 2002, under the tutelage of principal Andre Smith, Wake Forest-Rolesville High School was granted the approval to host an Army Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps program, beginning with the 2002-2003 school year. 

 

JROTC has become a relevant force in schools across the country; it is considered one of the best youth programs in America today. The aim of the program is to assist students with becoming better citizens.

Wake Forest Rolesville JROTC’S first Senior Army instructor was Colonel Leslie Carlow; the first Army instructor is Sergeant First Class James Hylton.

 

Enrollment in the program has increased each year with the current enrollment at 85 students.
